ImageDear Brothers:

Our 9th annual Irish festival at the Jersey Shore was a great success.  It was the largest crowd to ever come through the gates.  Also; the change in entertainment was received with a lot of enthusiasm and complements from our guests.  I would like to thank all 60 volunteers of the AOH and LAOH and their families for all the hard work.  Without all of you this would not have possible.  Please remember our festival volunteer’s party is October 5 at 8pm food by Salle T’s, Gunniess, Harp, wine and soda. Music by the Bogside Rouges.  Please bring a family member or a future Hibernian.

Our quest to purchase a stained glass window in the name of Vol. Patrick Torphy Div.2 for the new St.Mary’s Church in New Monmouth  is slowly growing.  To date we have raised $4,500.  The overall cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000+.  As you can see we need to kick up our efforts.  Any fund raising ideas are welcome as well as direct donations.  Should you or someone you know like to make a donation in the name of the AOH please send a check made out to: AOH Division / Stained glass fund PO BOX 2055 Red Bank NJ 07701

Our brother division just to the north of us in South Amboy will be hosting a Major Degree on 11/18/07.  They have extended an invitation to our division to participate.  All brothers that have not taken their Major Degree must not miss this chance to become a true Hibernian and learn the reason for our motto of Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.   We will be sending a bus from American legion at 9:45am on the day of the event.  The cost is $25 person beer, wine, soda and late lunch.  Music by Tommy O’Callaghan and the Moonshiners, and AOH Middlesex 1 pipe and drum.  All Brothers are invited to attend to support our Brothers in South Amboy. Info and reservation Call Gerry Ward.

Our annual turkey fund raiser will be the Saturday 11/17/07 9am at the American Legion.  Please stop by drop off a turkey and canned goods for Project Paul to meet their donation needs for the holiday season for families in the Bay Shore area.  Info Rob Hughes.

Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity

Jack Sullivan
