The State convention will be held this May 1st and 2nd at Division 1 Gloucester County, Richard Rossiter Memorial Hall, 200 Columbia Blvd, National Park, NJ 08063.
One of the purposes of the Convention is to vote for State Officers. Rich O’Brien will be running for NJ State Treasurer. He is part of the slate which includes Sean Hughes for President, Larry Prelle for Vice President and Derek Kirby for Secretary. They will have opposition and all four candidates need our vote. I would like to have 23 brothers to commit to vote and several alternates as backups.
In addition to the voting, our Brother Jim Shaw will be honored at Saturday Night’s Banquet with the Patrick Torphy Award for his tremendous work for Catholic Education. This is our brother getting, award given in honor of our Division’s namesake, and our Pipe Band is going to march him up to receive the award. We need to have a strong showing from our Division. We would like to get brothers to commit to the Banquet so that we can reserve tables.
Saturday is the important day. Registration starts at 6:00 a.m. Polls are open 6:15 until 1 pm.
Options to attend:
- Reserve a room for Friday and Saturday night and participate in the Convention offerings of our choosing
- Reserve a room for Saturday night and arrive early on Saturday morning to vote
- If you do not want to stay over but want to vote, we will rent a bus from our Hall early Saturday and return in the afternoon after all have voted.
